OVERVIEW

Blockchain is here to stay. On the flip-side, Blockchain Technology is being termed as a “solution looking for a problem”. There is a wide gap between what Blockchain Developers/ Start-ups are working on, and what Corporates are looking for. The NIPP Blockchain Hackathon, supported by 10,000 Startups, aims to bridge this gap between Start-ups/ Developers and Large Corporates.

The event will also pave the way towards building a comprehensive blockchain forum for enterprises, start-ups, developers, experts, and enthusiasts to come together and explore new opportunities for ideation and collaboration.

About NIPP:

The NASSCOM Industry Partnership Program (NIPP) seeks to foster sustained engagement between large corporations and innovative technology ventures in India. This nationwide initiative is industry agnostic and focusses on fostering a culture of open innovation through strategically aligned, curated connects.

The program operates on a collaborative model of participation, and includes mentorships, workshops and design reviews by experts, in addition to long-term commitments, events and annual meetings. All this, along with our association with Fortune 500 companies & global innovation leaders provides an ecosystem for innovation, like no other!

TIMELINE
NIPP Blockchain Challenge will be conducted in 3 phases

Phase 1 - Solution Ideation

Pick any one theme and build your idea around a potential solution and submit your solution overview along with the supporting documents.

Phase 2 - Pre-Hackathon Meetup

Shortlisted participants from 6 cities will get guidance from dedicated mentors through a workshop

Phase 3 - Solution Showcase

Finalists will be invited to build & showcase their minimum viable solution to an eminent Jury.Top 3 teams will be felicitated.

Solutions will be judged on a combination of the following critera

  • Minimum Viable Product (MVP) with 50% of the functionality developed (w.r.t the scope of solution)

  • Feasibility (Is the solution workable i.e. can be implemented and scaled up)
  • Final Stage
  • Refined and Updated Solution Doc
  • Minimum Viable Product (MVP) with 90% of the functionality developed (w.r.t the scope of solution)
  • Value (Challenges & Business Requirements the solution is solving)
  • Feasibility (Is the solution workable i.e. can be implemented and scaled up)
Each Participant will make a Solution Document which they will keep updating as they move along the various phases, which would specify the overall details about the solution (scope of solution, solution architecture, functionality completed, code deliverables etc.)

  • 1. How should I register for the challenge?
    Register as a new user, by clicking the "Register" button in the portal. Registration is mandatory for participating in the program.
  • 2. What is the eligibility for participation in NIPP Blockchain Challenge?
    NIPP Blockchain Challenge is open for students, Startups, Developers & Domain Experts.
  • 3. What should be the team size?
    Each team can have a minimum of 2 & maximum of 4 members.
  • 4. Can there be individual participation?
    No, you can't register as an individual.
  • 5. Can we submit our solutions for more than one theme?
    No, you cannot submit solutions for more than one theme
  • 6. Can we submit multiple solutions for one theme?
    No. You are allowed to submit only one idea per theme.
  • 7. Who will own the IP generated as part of the NIPP Blockchain Challenge?
    IP will be owned by the participants. The respective Use case sponsors will have the prerogative to initiate discussions on purchasing the IP.
  • 8. Where will the Finale day event be conducted?
    The final event will be held on 28th and 29th July at: NASSCOM Start-up Warehouse Corporate Tower, Central Atrium, Lower Ground Floor, DD3 No. 150, Diamond District, HAL Airport Road, Bangalore PIN : 560008.
  • 9. When and where will the winners be declared?
    Winners will be announced on 30th July 2018 in Bangalore.
